It is a great pleasure to invite you to attend the first International Conference on Statistical Distributions and Applications from October 10th to 12th 2013 at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, Mount Pleasant, Michigan, USA.

Because statistical distributions have broad applications, new distributions continue to be developed and applied. Due to recent advancement of computing technology, there have been renowned interest in the development of  new methodology for generating more complex and flexible distributions for fitting real world data.

By organizing this conference, we wish to accomplish two goals:

  • To provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to share and discuss recent advancements on distribution theory and applications, and to encourage opportunities for research collaborations.
  • To invite conference presenters to submit their articles for consideration of publication in a special issue of a new journal, Journal of Statistical Distributions and Applications (http://www.JSDAjournal.com/ ) to be published by Springer Publishing Company.

The scopes of this conference include, but not limited to

  • New methodologies for generating generalized statistical distributions
  • Properties of generalized statistical distributions
  • Frequentist and Bayesian statistical inferences, including parameter estimation and goodness of fit tests, for generalized distributions
  • Development of Bayesian priors using generalized distributions
  • Statistical modeling using generalized distributions
  • Applications of generalized distributions in biomedical sciences, finance, insurance, survival analysis, engineering and others

We will have the following types of presentations:

  1. Keynotes
  2. Plenary
  3. Regular (other invited and contributed)
  4. Student poster
