Our
study is being conducted in a region of the northern Lower Peninsula
of Michigan that is closed to bobcat harvesting. Our research will address the following needs
for harvested and unharvested populations: 1) estimation of bobcat
abundance in Michigan; 2) spatial models of bobcat distribution; and 3)
identification of suitable bobcat habitat in Michigan.
This study was funded by CMU, Little River Band of Ottawa Indians,
and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
