About Us

The Robotics and Haptics Laboratory (RH Lab) at Central Michigan University has been established to perform both applied and basic research in robotics, haptics, and other research areas. Current focus areas of the lab include:

  • Design of simulations for medical and engineering education.
  • Investigation of human performance during haptic exploration.
  • Design and testing of novel integration methods for human-robot interaction.
  • Research on the biomechanics of the human spine including modeling, simulation.
  • Artificial intervertebral disc design.
  • Machine learning applications for prediction tasks and smart tutor development in engineering/medical education.
  • Using probabilistic techniques to perform research in uncertainty and sensitiviy analysis.

The RH Lab is also a facility to immerse undergraduate and graduate students in research, and to enhance their education in these focus areas.

In order to get involved with the lab or for outreach activities, please contact Dr. Ernur Karadoğan via e-mail at ernur.karadogan@cmich.edu.
