How to make a
soroban
Following are the
links with helpful suggestions on how
to make an abacus. Please keep in mind that we need a soroban
so adjust the arrangement of beads accordingly (4 earthly beads and 1
heavenly bead).
- Corrugaged
cardboard and skewers
- Popsicle
sticks / bamboo skewers
(Careful! The video shows a Chinese Abacus,
not a Soroban! Adjust the number of beads accordingly (1-4).)
- You may make
one using construction paper, yarn and
beads
- You may use any
webpage with suggestions on how to
make an abacus as long as you'll make a soroban
- You may buy a soroban online. Make sure you are
getting a soroban.
