1996 Plant Physiology Class cooperates on independent research project to study the color change within maple leaves during the fall.

 

 

 

Leaf collection is a class project.

 

Mark extracts pigments for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Pigments that are soluble in organic solvents are collected within a separatory funnel.

 Thin-layer chromatographic plate to resolve the organic soluble pigments into individual bands.

Class presents results at annual CMU Student Research and Creative Endeavors Exhibition.
