Math 132 in the University Program

MTH 132 may be applied towards the requirements in Group IIB. The subject covered is based upon mathematics developed in the 17th century to describe laws of motion which, in turn, provided a description of forces and motion within the universe. In the 20th century these laws have been superseded as a description of the universe at large, but the mathematics of calculus has been discovered to be an important tool for modeling change in a variety of contexts. The techniques used here are typical of mathematics at large and of mathematical models used in the sciences.
