E-Mail: This is a reliable way to communicate with me. My e-mail is checked
every 15 minutes during the day when I am working in my office and is checked
frequently in the early evenings and weekends from my home. Mail sent to me
after about 10:00 pm will usually not be read until the next morning. E-mail
is
usually
a more effective way to reach me than my telephone voice mail. I answer calculus questions via e-mail!
Course web page: You are responsible for all assignments and policy information
posted here, even if these are not mentioned in class. You will need to check
this page regularly. Daily would be best. If you forget the web address you
can navigate to it by starting at Blackboard and choosing the Mth 132
link.
Office Hours: The specific posted hours indicate when I should always be there to be contacted. Any necessary cancellation or rescheduling of these will be announced in class or (last resort) posted on my office door. I will not be available before the 9:00 class start in the morning. I often leave my office door closed. Knock if it is closed. In the summer session I will not normally be at my office outside office hours but appointments can be made for other times. I will not be available for appointments on Monday, Wednesday and Friday after 1:00 P.M.
Homework: The daily homework is not normally collected for grading. However,
you need to do it and to keep up with it since it will form the basis
for daily discussion and your performance will suffer significantly if you
do not.
Exams: The exam schedule is set in stone. Only an emergency such as university closing due to an emergency would change this schedule.
Calculators: More detail about how calculators will be used and about allowed
models is here.
